Is Chesapeake Inn The Right Venue for Your Baltimore Wedding?

Weddings

If you’re dreaming of a waterfront wedding with sweeping views and an upscale feel: Chesapeake Inn is absolutely worth considering.

As a Baltimore wedding photographer, I have worked at dozens of venues in the area and this one really stands out to me. Not only does the layout make for a really laid-back and accessible day, but it provides this beautiful oasis for your guests to escape to & enjoy the celebration you’re throwing.

This is a wedding I photographed there recently that is a perfect example of what a standout place this venue is!

Katie and Darius’ had such a fun celebration, and everywhere you looked Chesapeake Inn provided gorgeous backdrops.

From the moment guests arrived, the day sailed off effortlessly. Kathryn spent the morning getting ready in a floral robe surrounded by her favorite people in the on-site bridal suite. While Darius got ready nearby in the groom’s room with his groomsmen. We did portraits on the lawn before the ceremony, and it was just such a great way to kick off their day.

A Ceremony with Unforgettable Views

One of the biggest highlights of the property is the outdoor ceremony space. Set on a sprawling lawn overlooking the water, it offers an incredible backdrop without needing much extra décor. A simple white arbor accented with soft pink and white florals framed Katie & Darius’ ceremony beautifully while the surrounding trees and waterfront did the rest.

The estate itself adds so much charm to the day. The stately white home creates a beautiful setting for portraits, while the expansive grounds provide endless opportunities for photos that feel elegant, natural, and timeless.

As the sun began to lower over the water, the newlyweds stepped away for portraits with sweeping views stretching behind them. I loved how their glowy newlywed portraits turned out.

Why Couples Love Chesapeake Inn

One of my favorite things about this venue is how much flexibility it offers.

Here are a few features to put on your list when considering this venue:

  • An outdoor waterfront ceremony location
  • A beautiful historic estate for portraits
  • Plenty of open lawn space for a tented reception
  • Dreamy sunset views across the water
  • Room for guests to spread out and enjoy the property

After newlywed portraits, we pivoted to kick off the celebration. The tented reception felt romantic and inviting with white draping, warm string lights, elegant chandeliers, and classic round tables. As the evening went on, the dance floor filled with guests of every age. It was the kind of celebration guests remember forever.

If you’re searching for a venue that offers stunning backdrops, but still leaves room for personalization: Chesapeake Inn is a venue you should consider.

I’d happily photograph again and again.
